The complex, highly customized component is the first of its kind in North

Sheboygan, Wis. – April 21, 2022 – Vollrath Manufacturing Services, a division of The Vollrath Company, LLC, is proud to have contributed to the widely acclaimed launch of the innovative, all-new Timberline Grill from Traeger, Inc., the innovators and category leaders in wood-pellet grills.

Traeger selected Vollrath based on its proven capabilities as a manufacturing partner to develop a custom induction cooktop for its fully reimagined Timberline Grill that perfected the outdoor cooking experience. Having an induction feature incorporates the ability to sear, sauté, simmer, fry, and brown into the outdoor cooking experience, complimenting the other features of the most advanced outdoor cooking solution ever developed.

“We knew what we wanted to achieve with the induction component of our new Timberline Grill and Vollrath’s breadth of engineering and manufacturing solutions, along with their experience with induction, assured us that they could produce exactly what we were looking for,” says Jim Hardy, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Traeger.

Vollrath’s manufacturing and tooling knowledge along with its supply chain network, also played into meeting Traeger’s industrial design specifications.

The UL-certified induction cooktop was designed to integrate into the grill system. Sealed connections were designed to ensure it can withstand a wide range of outdoor weather conditions. The induction unit can tolerate ambient temperatures between -20°F and 120°F, along with a wide variety of moisture conditions from condensation to ice. It also features both intake and exhaust at the bottom of the unit to minimize weather related functionality.

The induction cooktop can be ordered with a grill and sold separately.

“At Vollrath, we work with our customers to make the impossible possible when it comes to industrial product solutions,” says Jean Horvath, vice president of Vollrath’s Custom & Specialty Products division. “Traeger came to us with a complex and challenging need for a product that did not exist in the marketplace, and it was our job to deliver an innovative solution that met all of their needs exactly.”
